Unless you know for sure they could be swarming queen ANTS.  Both ants and termites are social insects and migrations can take place two times a year.  Swarming queen ants fly from the colony that may be near your property and usually in the direction of Sun or artificial light.

Also approximately twice a year, TERMITE queens swarm and fly from the colony.   The ant queen and the termite queen can be distinguished by several anatomical characteristics - as size,  wings   and  body figure.  Queen ants have ( nodes ) or a thin waist.  In termite queens,  ( nodes ) are not distinguishable with the naked eye.

Ant queen have four pairs of wings.  The two in the front are longer than the backside ones.  Termite queens also have four pairs of wings,  but both pairs are about the same size.  The shape of the veins found in the termite wings can distinguish the different species as does its body colors,  also antenna shapes, etc.

Pests are characterized as animals and insects that compete with humans for food - water - warmth and shelter.

Most of the time they find easy food near us.  A small piece of bread crumb that falls behind the counter is hardly visible to us,  but it's a giant piece of carbohydrate food for a tiny Ghost ant colony.

Dogs and other pets that we nurture such as birds can be detected by wild rodents as they can smell pet food and bird feed.  They enter your property through a none-sealed opening and setup a colony or nest.
